Just Another Day

Happy Birthday to me!!

I celebrated my birthday today by spindling a little over my lunch break. :)

I haven’t really had much time to do as much spinning as I have wanted since school started. But I plan to rectify that problem, immediately. ;)

Maybe the best “gift” I received so far was the drum carder from Natalie! Her dad bought it for her ages ago for about $100 and she offered to sell it to me. Um…yes!! How else could I make this?

Now, I don’t know how good of a job that is…

…but it works!!

Then, I got a real kick out of seeing Girl Child in her legwarmers earlier this week.

This is an AM pic.

This is a PM pic.

Lol!! By the time she had gotten back in from school, the legwarmers were scrunched down, backwards, with weeds poking out of them here and there!

Sigh. What’re you gonna do, right? :)

  1. Happy Birthday!!! Lovin’ girl child. Sounds like my girls! No “prissy” girls here. 8-) BEAUTIFUL yarn you are spinning. Yowza!

    • Thanks!! Oh my. No…No “priss.” AT ALL! Lol! In fact, she has just gotten home from school and I think her shirt ate her lunch…doesn’t stop her from jumping and rolling all over the floor in a fit of laughter. Lol. Girl Child!

Thanks! I just finished the Secret Garden a bit ago…trying to catch up on some projects and my blog hopping so, it gets a chance to rest for a minute…Now I have to come up with something to knit with it! :)

  2. Happy birthday! Those leg warmers are adorable, only overshadowed by Girl Child’s beauty! Keep it spinning! :)

***HAPPY BIRTHDAY, STACEY*** So glad GC is putting her pretty leg warmers to use…even if they were a bit weary and weedy by the end of the day : ) Your fiber works are lovely!

  4. Happy birthday! Glad to see GC’s not afraid to enjoy her legwarmers!

  5. Those are such cute leg warmers.

  6. ¡Feliz cumpleaños! You sure are fast at knitting! Can’t believe the leg warmers are done!

  7. Happy Birthday! Hope you had a nice one! I like how the socks kind of matches the bag ;-)

  8. Happy birthday! Wishing you a year full of fibre, colour, learning and fun! Daisie xxx

  9. ♩♫ Happy birthday to you … happy birthday to youuuuuu ♬♪ :-)
I love those legwarmers! They are beautiful.

    Greetings from Germany!

    • Thanks!!

From Germany?! Wow! That’s awesome! I love how the web takes the whole world and puts it right in your laptop. Otherwise, I’d probably never see anything! :) Thank you for visiting!

  10. Happy birthday. Spinning sounds like a good reward. I haven’t tried taking my drop spindle to work yet. If sock knitting causes a stir in the break room, I wonder what that would do. :-)

    • Lol!! Isn’t it funny how folks get about that?! If you had a penny for every time you heard someone say, “I just don’t have the patience for that,” just how rich would you be? Like a gazillionaire? No…Like a MEGA-gazillionaire!

  11. YAY! Happy Birthday!!! I hope your day was wonderful Stacey, you certainly deserve it!

Those legwarmers are so cool!! They look fantastic on her!!

  12. Happy Birthday!! Hope you enjoyed your day. Love the legwarmers.

  13. Many Happy Returns! I love that she kept them on all daay even though the were a wee – bit bedraggled… :)

Happy late birthday!! Hope it was a splendid day :)

  15. Happy belated birthday!!
your girl child is so sweet. I love the leg warmers on her. Ages ago when my son was small I remember coming home from school all rumpled and wrinkled — its hard work learning all day!!

  16. Happy belated bday! Glad you are enjoying the drum carder! We could work out a trade for it maybe, I’m going to need a photographer for my jewelry soon. If you can stand to shoot that instead of fiber lol.

    • Thank you, Natalie!

Oh most definitely! I didn’t know you made jewelry?! Ok. So what don’t you have in those closets??? Lol!

      • ohh, you don’t even wanna know what my jewelry supplies look like! That’s taken over the eat-in area of my kitchen. We won’t talk about the coal forge and anvil out in the garage.

  17. Trying to get caught up on my blogs. Happy Birthday!!!! I hope you enjoyed your special day. :-)
Loving the Noro legwarmers. So colorful and cute!

    • Oh my goodness, Libby! Me too! So much to see on all the blogs!! And the season is changing, so it’s only going to get better!!!

Thank you for the birthday wishes and the compliments on the legwarmers. :) I need to go back to NC and get more Noro. Next time we have to do a stash enhancement session together! :)

  18. Happy Birthday! I am sure you will have lots of fun with your drum carder, and I love the leg warmers. Two lucky girls!
