Conquering All For Love

I got this in the mail earlier this week from Threads Thru Time …

and let’s just say, we’re working out our kinks. 🙂

I have no experience with Russian spindles so I can’t comment just yet on how well it does it’s job.  Currently, back to 10 minutes a day trying to learn this kind of spindle…See that little bit of fiber on there?  That’s as far as I got in the first three days!

This is definitely going to take a minute.

I came across something in Ask the Bellwether’s book that spoke of point of twist drafting.  I think this is where that comes into play with this spindle, fiber combo.  So, I have a new technique to learn.  Yay?

Of course, then I touch something like this…

That’s camel fiber.  It’s so soft it’s ridiculous.  And suddenly, I don’t care how long it takes.

Mmmmm…yarn. 🙂

  1. Ooh camel fiber! That sounds sublime. I am a novice spinner myself. I’m working on a simple drop spindle I made myself.
