I Did It!

Finally finished spinning some fiber I got awhile back from Harbor Fibers.

I was telling another blogger earlier today that there was no way I was posting about these spins AGAIN as WIPs (check out the time frame, here and here).  They had to be DONE.  Well, in between keeping watch over a sick kid today, I got to finish them off.  Here they are.

Done

& Done.

Quite pleased. 🙂

I have one more ounce to spin before I can start with the plying.  I imagine this will be some sort of magenta/orange/sea blue-turquoisey kind of concoction.  Both of these are lovely to spin on.  The Bossie Midi is SO well-balanced.  It’s perfect.  But I do think I enjoyed spinning on the Turkish a little more.  It’s an excellent spinner too.  But more than that, it’s just fun!! And those little designs that are made when you wind on are delicious!

Let’s just hope these are no indication of how long it will take to get that turquoise spun though.  Sheesh!

  1. Ohhhhh…look at how fine and beautiful those yarns are! They’re mesmerizing on the spindles! I used to spindle-spin, but nothing even remotely close to the quality of these beauties. The colors are so rich too – like yarnie gemstones. 🙂 I hope your little sweetie is feeling better…

  2. It’s really difficult to divide my time anymore between the spindling, the spinning on the wheel and the knitting. I have too much fun with all three! And you’re right. These colors are rich. I want to put three colors together for my first 3-ply yarn. I know it’s going to dull a little when I start the plying, so I’m starting with some really vibrant and loud colors, lol! I can’t wait to see what happens when this is all plied!

Oh, and that was my BIG baby! Thanks for the well wishes. 🙂
