Not much going on, actually.
Well, not much except…MY WHEEL WAS SHIPPED TODAY! Can’t wait to get it in the house and start spinning to see if that one is as good as everyone says it is. The seller I bought the wheel from has been stellar so far and I can’t wait to give her a fabulous review on ebay. Ebay is one of those sites that, quite frankly, scares me. I am a nervous bidder. I like the “Buy it Now” options much better. This one was a “Buy it Now” because I just couldn’t take the jitters from bidding…What’s that? Oooohhhhh. You want to know if I finished knitting that hat?
Yes, I did! But I want to get a photo of it on her first before I show you guys. Tomorrow would be an opportune time. But, she has an interview at a collegiate program she wants to get into and doesn’t want to mess her ‘do up. Sigh. Models (rolls eyes), lol!
At any rate, tonight’s spin from this little guy…
You may recall I had a big decision to make on this spin. I suppose I decided that the spin stops when I say it does, lol. I’m not ready to let this one go yet.
The tendency for the singles to slip around the top of my spindle so that it kept flying away from me was overcome by slightly tugging the whole cop down on the shaft. Fortunately, these singles are not exhibiting all of the energy they originally did when I spun them or that might have been a mess. They’ve settled into their twist and position a bit so that moving it as an object instead of little strands was a cinch. Now, I can wind around the cop and then end with a wrap just underneath the whorl before taking it back up to the hook. I’m spinning easy again!
I think I’m going to be ending the night with a couple minutes reading from the Twisted Sisters Sock Workbook (my first inspiration to learn how to spin). I need to know more about spinning colors!
