Just Spinning My Wheels

So, I am starting over again.

On the second sock, that is. πŸ™‚

I got up to the heel and gussets yesterday on the first one which made it easy peasy to complete today.

Very photogenic, I think. πŸ˜‰

So today, I decided to put the lace on hold for a couple hours to get a start on the second one.

Well, we have a cuff at least. We’ll see what the end of the night brings.

Again, I will be using markers on the first sock to make the second one. These are more basic socks, so there is no real pattern. It’s just straightforward sock anatomy. Β The red yarn marker as well as the contrasting stripes and heel show me how to navigate certain parts of the sock…like where the heel actually started, how many rows until the decreases, etc. They’re pretty helpful to me and they make the sock a little more interesting.

Still spinning on the Tour-de-Fleece as well. A little bit everyday. Darn cooking and housework are cutting into my crafts time…Ugh.

But, I started spinning some more on my Joy today. I knew I would get bored with the gray Norwegian wool. I may like knitting it up more than the spinning of it? Plus, I am nearly halfway through those eight ounces anyway…Aw, who am I kidding?!

I just love color and I needed a fix! πŸ™‚

  1. Beautiful socks and yarn! LMAO! I too have 8 oz of Norwegian Gray wool that I am SICK of spinning! 😎

    • Ditto! Or else this would’ve been finished by now for me. I can’t tell if this is the texture or the color…but I picked up my Joy project so it isn’t so bad now. Loads of color in that! And it’s really soft! We’ll see if the Norwegian redeems itself when it is all washed up.

  2. All of your projects are coming along quite nicely. I do understand the interference of basic chores. Sadly though, it’s kind of embarrassing to make excuses to a house visitor about why your living room or kitchen is the way it is, but your scarf or in my case the baby blanket that you’re sewing is so fun and beautiful! LOL

    • Thanks Libby! I am working on them a little tonight because I spun earlier. You know, what gets me is I clean except for that one time when my mom comes by, lol! There may be some dishes in the sink or something else really annoying. She always knows when to catch me slacking, ha ha!

  3. I love those red stripes in your socks, and how cool that you use them as signposts for your knitting!
The Norweigian is looking quite lovely. I can never decide with longwools until they’re done. I think I’m not liking them as I spin, and then I finish and am in love. I have three skeins of Wensleydale driving on my dashboard today. (Maybe they’ll also make my car smell nice.)

    • I like the red too. Very different for what I would normally wear. That’s always good. πŸ™‚

Thanks for the compliment on the Norwegian spin. I hope I love it in the end. It feels scratchy to me right now though. Thinking about a felted bag for this….

  4. I love the colours on that sock! way too pretty to cover up with shoes, that’s for sure!
