Unpacking

diggingitup003

Well, we’re still here.

We take a licking and we keep on ticking. That’s what we do.

Moved back to Newark this past week. Unpacking and getting reacquainted with some semi-old friends now.

This stuff is just beautiful. I spun some more to get the bobbin evened out today. It’s almost there.

This one has a rugged, and yet a very cool and gentle quality to it at the same time. I love it.

Life goes on…and unpacking sure feels nice.

Comments

  1. It looks beautiful with the rough edges.

I just love your spinning! Good luck with the new life!

  3. Such beautiful colours. I would love to feel their textures too.

    • These colors are really doing the job for me. For the texture, they are not opposites exactly. But they’re very different. The strawberry-lemonade colored one is super smooth. It’s milk fiber. It just slips through the fingers effortlessly. The other drafts easily as well, but it’s more kinky textured. I should’ve asked Deb what fiber this was instead of assuming it was a sheep fiber…but I think it is. This one doesn’t have a hard crimp, mind you. Just enough to know you’re dealing with an animal’s coat, basically.

  4. As stressful as moving is, I love unpacking and finding a new place for everything 🙂

    • Most times I find things I forgot I even had! It’s like lost treasure. But I could never forget my babies though…Still can’t fathom yet why people sell their spinning wheels. I think I’d sell off everything but my kids first…and that older one is big enough to stage an escape if he had to, lol.

  5. This is so beautiful! I pray for you in the evening, is that alright for you? It sounds you feel a bit better and I’m glad for it. Hugs to you! Have a good weekend! 🙂

  6. Your spinning is gorgeous as always and I’m so happy to hear things are getting a bit better. Change is good, it will give you a new outlook on life and a little peace too 🙂

  7. ❤ Hope you're feeling nice and settled soon!

  8. I love love love that slate blue grey business you’ve got going on.

I hope the move is a cleansing process for you. Glad to hear you have moved somewhere familiar. 🙂

  9. You are very calm about the unpacking.
